Our story
Placid started as a single counter on Jalan Yap Ah Loy with one belief: that exchanging money shouldn't feel like a gamble. A decade later we still publish our rates openly, still greet our regulars by name, and still take the time to count every note twice.
We handle everything from holiday spending money to bulk corporate exchanges. We also buy older series notes — Japanese Yen, GBP paper notes, and pre-2006 USD — that most other changers turn away.
